HELP
IS ON THE WAY
The
two epidemics of animal abandonment and animal aggression are of primary
importance, and the focus of our energy and attention. Unless
people are given an accurate diagnosis and assessment of their situation,
no problem is going to be resolved, be it behavioral or physiological. To that end, there are a number of ways to
pursue assistance to prevent and/or resolve problems. First,
for residents of the Monterey Peninsula, you may contact me directly
for a Housecall at:
I
am directly paged Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am
and 5:30 pm. Second,
for telephonic consultations for behavioral problems, both for prevention
and resolution, the number to call from anywhere in the world is: (831)624-4972,
or email me at AnimalParenting@aol.com
to arrange an appointment. The
most important aspect to the appointment is that virtually everyone
in the house be equally motivated to solving the problem. Otherwise, mixed messages will occur, which breeds insecurity and
lays a foundation for acting out and aggression. Third, one of the greatest resources for learning how to have a healthy and balanced relationship with your 4-footed family member is to order and listen to the audiobook “Parenting Your K-9 Angel”. As
one client stated after listening to the audiobook and implementing
the information: “I have a completely different dog who’s happy and
secure, but it’s just too easy!” That’s
a wonderful “complaint” to hear, because the bottom line is that raising
and maintaining a wonderfully loving, healthy and balanced relationship
with a 4-footed family member IS extremely easy, logical and straightforward. BUT, people can’t know what they don’t know,
which is why the parenting guide is such an invaluable aid in understanding
how to meet the needs of your animal, and as a consequence, have peace
reign supreme. And
last but not least, a public forum, the Animal
Lover’s Hour at Borders Bookstore**
on the Monterey Peninsula, has been a wonderful resource monthly for
the last 5 years. So for Peninsula
residents or those visiting the Peninsula, this forum is open to the
public and free of charge on the second Wednesday of every month at
7:30 pm. Also,
those interested in presentations, workshops and/or TV and radio interviews
are welcome to call the Animal Care Clinic
at (831)624-4972
to schedule any of the above. Albert
Einstein had a priceless
quote that said: “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that
created it.” If we all choose
to open our minds to respecting how nature teaches parenting, we will
all be the benefactors, and peaceful resolutions will be yours to implement. |
